CyConnect was created to bring Cypriots together — safely, respectfully, and positively.
These Community Guidelines explain what is and isn’t allowed on the platform.
By using CyConnect, you agree to follow these guidelines.
Violations may result in warnings, message removal, chat bans, or account suspension.
Our goal is simple:
A safe and welcoming place for Cypriots worldwide.
1. Be Respectful
CyConnect is a community built on culture, identity, and connection.
Treat others the way you’d treat someone in your village or neighborhood.
The following is not allowed:
Insulting, mocking, or harassing other users
Threats, intimidation, or targeted attacks
Hate speech, racism, sexism, or discrimination
Aggressive or hostile behavior
Friendly debate is fine — disrespect is not.
2. Keep Conversations Safe & Appropriate
We do not allow:
Explicit sexual content
Unwanted sexual messages or advances
Sharing or requesting intimate photos
Lewd messages in public chats
Content involving minors (zero-tolerance)
Private DMs must still follow all rules.
3. No Bullying or Harassment
This includes:
Persistent unwanted messaging
Encouraging others to target a user
Spreading rumors or personal attacks
Telling users to harm themselves or others
If someone blocks you or asks you to stop — stop.
4. No Spam or Self-Promotion
CyConnect is not for:
Advertising or commercial promotion
Mass messages or unsolicited DMs
Posting the same content repeatedly
Promoting crypto, forex, or referral schemes
Fake giveaways or misleading offers
Events must be real. Promotions require approval.
5. No Fake Profiles or Impersonation
Do not:
Pretend to be another person
Use someone else’s photos
Create multiple accounts to deceive others
Impersonate public figures or organizations
Be yourself. Be real.
6. Protect Your Privacy & Others’
Do not share:
Phone numbers of others
Home addresses
Workplace details
Private conversations
Sensitive personal info
You may share your own details at your own discretion — but be cautious.
7. Keep Events Safe & Truthful
When creating events:
Provide accurate details
Do not mislead attendees
Do not host illegal or unsafe activities
Take responsibility for the event environment
Attending events is at your own risk — but unsafe events will be removed, and organizers warned or banned.
8. No Illegal or Dangerous Behavior
Strictly prohibited:
Selling drugs or illegal substances
Promoting violence or illegal activities
Fraud, scams, or financial deception
Sharing pirated content
Encouraging harmful behavior
We cooperate with law enforcement when required.
9. Respect Local Cultures & Communities
CyConnect is for Cypriots everywhere — Greece, the UK, Australia, the US, Europe, the Middle East and beyond.
Avoid:
Insulting cultural groups
Starting political flame wars
Nationalist aggression
Offensive stereotypes
Healthy conversation is welcome. Hostility is not.
10. Reporting and Enforcement
Users can report:
Chats
Messages
Events
Profiles
Behaviors
Safety concerns
We review violations based on:
Severity
Frequency
Intent
Risk to others
Actions we may take:
Warning
Removing content
Temporary chat bans
Feature restrictions
Permanent account removal
Serious violations (hate speech, threats, minors, illegal content) result in immediate removal.
11. Appeal Process
If you believe a moderation action was taken in error, you may contact:
